“Natural” is not a regulated word. It appears on bottles that are mostly synthetic. The useful question is not whether a product is natural, but what it does and does not contain.
Sulphates
They clean well — too well. They strip sebum indiscriminately, which leaves the scalp to overcompensate. That is the cycle where hair feels greasy two days after washing.
Silicones
Silicone makes hair feel smooth immediately by coating it. Over weeks the coating builds up, blocks moisture, and the hair underneath is worse than when you started.
Mineral oil
Cheap, stable, and it sits on the surface without being absorbed. It is filler. A formulation that leads with mineral oil is telling you where its budget went.
What to look for instead
Cold-pressed carrier oils, named herbs rather than “herbal extract”, and a short ingredient list you can actually read. If the first five ingredients are not doing work, the rest will not save it.
